BEES STING BOBCATS IN OT TO TAKE CONFERENCE OPENER

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. - No. 23, St. Thomas (3-4, TSC 0-1) suffered another overtime defeat in their conference opener against the Savannah College of Art and Design (4-3-2, TSC 1-0).  In another hard-fought contest, the Bobcats displayed a valiant effort throughout, but difference would again prove to be an overtime goal by the opponent.

Both teams were held scoreless during the first half.  The Bees were the more aggressive team in the first, generating nine shots to the Bobcats two.  That narrative would change in the second, as the Bobcats would match SCAD's shots throughout the half, with five apiece.  However, a combination of stout defense and favorable breaks kept St. Thomas in the contest.  The match would eventually end up in extras, where the Bees' Meadhbh Deeney found Zola Owsley on the break-away for the game-winner.

The Bobcats return to the pitch on Sunday afternoon, when they take on another conference opponent in Thomas (Ga.).  Kick-off is set for noon E.T.
