MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. - No. 23, St. Thomas (3-4, TSC 0-1) suffered another overtime defeat in their conference opener against the Savannah College of Art and Design (4-3-2, TSC 1-0). Â In another hard-fought contest, the Bobcats displayed a valiant effort throughout, but difference would again prove to be an overtime goal by the opponent.
Both teams were held scoreless during the first half. Â The Bees were the more aggressive team in the first, generating nine shots to the Bobcats two. Â That narrative would change in the second, as the Bobcats would match SCAD's shots throughout the half, with five apiece. Â However, a combination of stout defense and favorable breaks kept St. Thomas in the contest. Â The match would eventually end up in extras, where the Bees' Meadhbh Deeney found Zola Owsley on the break-away for the game-winner.
The Bobcats return to the pitch on Sunday afternoon, when they take on another conference opponent in Thomas (Ga.). Â Kick-off is set for noon E.T.
