BOBCATS UNDONE IN OVERTIME BY #13 HASTINGS

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla.- The Bobcats latest tilt saw them come up just short against #13 Hastings College (Neb.) in double-overtime.  In what was mostly a defensive struggle, both teams finally broke through in the second half, forcing extras.  The Bobcats would ultimately come apart in the second overtime, suffering their third overtime loss of the season.

Time of possession was pretty even as both teams did a good job of controlling the ball.  The Bobcats were able to generate more shot opportunities than the Broncos, but were not able to find the back of the net.  The match would remain scoreless until the 49th minute when the Broncos Taylor Geis was able to steal the ball away from Sarrah Granda and take it in for the game's first score.  The Bobcats would even the score in the 84th minute when a Broncos foul in the box provided a penalty kick opportunity.  Sharon Tejeda stepped up and easily made good with the equalizer.

The 1-1 score would hold up over the remainder of regulation.  The first overtime period would play out much like the first half, with both teams unable to capitalize on their shot opportunities.  Three minutes into overtime, the Broncos Michaela Vadeboncoeur was able to dribble past a slew of Bobcat defenders for the game-winning goal.

The Bobcats return to the pitch on Friday, September 11, when they take on the Knights of Middle Georgia State.  Kickoff is scheduled for 3 P.M. E.T.
