BOBCATS FALL TO NO. 3 SAINT XAVIER

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - Third ranked Saint Xavier (12-0) defeated St. Thomas (2-5) 72-45 Sunday at the Cruzin' Classic played at the Fort Lauderdale Convention Center.

Supavadee Kunchuan made her 2016-17 debut and notched a double-double to lead the Bobcats.  Kunchuan scored 12 points and pulled down 14 rebounds to go along with four steals and three assists.

Katie Rienas and Desanta' Franklin-Jordan each added nine points for St. Thomas.

After trailing 22-12 at the end of the first quarter, the Bobcats played lockdown defense in the following quarter holding Saint Xavier to just six points in the second stanza.  The Cougars however opened up a big lead in the third quarter and never looked back.

St. Thomas returns to Cruzin' Classic action at 11 a.m. Monday vs. Briar Cliff at the Fort Lauderdale Convention Center.
