POINT DEFEATS STU IN NAIA SOUTHEASTERN CHALLENGE

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – Point (10-3) defeated host St. Thomas (4-7) 66-57 in overtime Thursday night at the Fernandez Center in the NAIA Southeastern Challenge, part of the Miami-Doral Hotels Classic.

Desanta' Franklin-Jordan led the Bobcats with 18 points and Katie Rienas added 12 points in the defeat. Samara Auguste had nine points and Supavadee Kunchuan scored eight points and pulled down eight rebounds.

The Bobcats trailed by five points at halftime, then went on an electric 17-2 run to storm back into the lead. Point then outscored STU 11-8 in the fourth quarter to force the overtime period.Point was dominant in the extra period, outscoring the Bobcats 12-3 for the win.

St. Thomas returns to action as the Miami-Doral Hotels Classic and the NAIA Southeastern Challenge continues Friday. The Bobcats will host Reinhardt at 6 p.m. at the Fernandez Family Center.
