MIAMI GARDENS, FL- St. Thomas (4-8) faced a tough loss against Reinhardt (14-1), losing by a score of 52-54 to close out the NAIA Southeastern Challenge and Miami-Doral Hotels Classic.
After being down by eight at the half, the Bobcats rallied back, scoring 18 points in the third quarter. Leading the way for St. Thomas was sophomore
Samara Auguste with 16 points on the night. Following not too far behind her was junior 
Desanta' Franklin-Jordan with 13 points. This brought them within four points to head into the fourth quarter.
In the fourth the Bobcats would go ahead and take the lead with 5:52 remaining in regulation after a 
Katie Rienas, clutch three pointer. But this wouldn't be enough as the Bobcats would later miss a buzzer beater with 0.2 seconds left to end the game.
Leading the way for the Bobcats was 
Samara Auguste with 16 points on the night, as well as two rebounds, four assists and four steals. Trailing closely behind her was 
Desanta' Franklin-Jordan with 13 points, three rebounds two assists and four steals.
The Bobcats will bring in the New Year with their next match on Monday, January 2, 2017 at home against Emmanuel College.
