VIERA GETS WIN IN SECOND GAME OF DOUBLE HEADER AGAINST PALM BEACH ATLANTIC

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – St. Thomas (7-6), ranked number one by Perfect Game and no. 2 in the NAIA Coaches Poll, won second game (2-1) of a doubleheader against Palm Beach Atlantic (8-6) and lost the second game (9-10). 

In the first game, the Bobcats would jump out to a 7-1 lead that stretched to the top of the 7th. However, in the bottom of the 7th the Sailfish would make a seven run rally to lead the Bobcats 8-7 headed to the top of the 8th. Both team would score two runs in the 9th for a final score 9-10.

In the second game, Alex Viera would throw an outstanding seven innings for the Bobcats. Viera earning the win in game two, allowed one earned run on three hits over seven innings. Viera struck out five and walked none in his winning performance. 
 
St. Thomas returns to the diamond on Tuesday February 23rd to face-off against Florida International University. First pitch is set for 6 p.m. E.T. at FIU Baseball Stadium.
