MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. ā Ave Maria (16-31, 4-16 TSC) defeated St. Thomas (28-16, 12-7 TSC) 6-5 on Sunday April 17th at Paul Demie Mainieri Field.

Bobcats jumped out to an early lead getting two quick RBI's from
Cesar Ramirez (1-3, 2 RBI) in the first and fourth innings.
Jose Gomez (2-5, 1 RBI) also contributed with an RBI of his own in the fifth.

In the seventh Ave Maria got a run, as did the Bobcats with an RBI single from
Steven Fischer (3-4, 1 RBI) scoring
Michael Centeno (1-3, 1 Run) extending the lead 4-1 for St. Thomas.

Andrew Denis pitched a fantastic game through seven innings allowing one earned run on four hits with one walk and three strikeouts.

Bobcats entered the eighth inning with a commanding lead thanks to Denis but couldn't hold on late in the game as Ave Maria scored five runs in the eighth to take the lead 6-4.St. Thomas did try to make a push in the bottom of the eighth with an RBI single from
German Morales (1-4, 1 RBI) scoring
Oscar Rodriguez (1-2, 2 Runs) but it was to little to late.
