Thomasville, Ga.- St. Thomas (2-5-1, 1-1 TSC) lost to #6 Thomas (8-0-1, 2-0 TSC) in a long and intense overtime matchup against a tough Night Hawks squad.
It didn't take long for TU to open up the scoring against the Bobcats, netting a rocket past Robert Barton at the 20th minute.
STU was not pleased with this scoreline and Pablo Gill was ready to make an impact. A short three minutes had passed after the goal, when St. Thomas gained possession. Federico Moronell ran through the center of the pitch, taking out defenders. He saw a perfect opportunity for a through ball to Gill, who evened up the match in the 23rd minute with a powerful strike. The link up was crucial, as the Bobcats regained life in this match.
The second half didn't bring any goals, taking this game in to what would be a fierce overtime. Possession went back and forth, but Thomas clinched the game with the winning goal with 2 minutes left in the second overtime.
