Bluftton, S.C. ā St. Thomas (5-3, 1-2 TSC) was defeated by University of South Carolina Beaufort (6-5, 2-1 TSC) 4-3 in its third conference matchup of the season at Fin Land Field.

The game was like a roller coaster from the start, going up and down throughout the entire match. The Bobcats got on the board quickly as
Ana Parra scored the game's first goal in the firstĀ minute of the match off a lovely pass from
Jannel Johnson. The teams went into halftime tied at one a piece after a Sand Sharks' goal in the 26
th minute.

USCB scored first after the break in the 48
th minute putting them head 2-1. The Bobcats answered with back-to-back goals from
Amanda Gordon in the 50
th and 62
nd minutes of the match to give St. Thomas the lead 3-2. The first goal came off a useful pass from
Kylie Braeseke, while the second was a beautiful one-on-one play off a defensive error.

The Bobcats held onto the lead as long as they could, but USCB tied the game in the 85
th minute of the match sending it into extra time. In extra time, the Sand Sharks' scored the game-winning golden goal in the 93
rd minute.

St. Thomas was lead by Gordon's two goals off of three shots in the match. Parra scored her loan goal off her only shot in the game. Johnson and Braeseke both had an assist while
Sarah Lyppert Thomsson lead the team with five shots in the match.
Prior to the match, the Bobcats and Sand Sharks united for a moment that exemplified the NAIA Champions of Character program. The Bobcats delivered toys and stuffed animals to the Sand Sharks as part of an effort by USCB to collect gifts for local pediatric cancer patients in the area.Ā
