BOBCATS FINISH STRONG TO BEAT TIGERS

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – Desanta' Franklin-Jordan recorded career-highs with 25 points and 18 rebounds to lead St. Thomas (7-9) to a 68-58 win over Voorhees (4-12) Saturday night at the Fernandez Family Center.

Supavadee Kunchuan also recorded a double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds, while Emily May (13 points) and Katie Rienas (11 points) scored in double figures as well.

The game was close until the end with the largest lead by either team (10 points) coming with just eight seconds remaining in the final period. There were six lead changes throughout the course of the contest and a mere two points was all that separated these evenly matched opponents at the conclusion of the third period.

The Bobcats finished strong, outscoring the Tigers 18-10 in the fourth period. In all statistical categories, there was a minimal degree of separation between St. Thomas and Voorhees. The biggest difference between the two sides was total rebounds. The Bobcats finished with 49 boards while the Tigers only came up with 37 rebounds.

St. Thomas will be back in Sun Conference play when they travel to Webber International University for a 7 p.m. game on Thursday.
