BOBCATS DOMINATE AGAIN AT HOME

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla - St. Thomas (7-0-1, 4-0 TSC) remained undefeated on the season and perfect in conference play with a dominant 6-0 win over University of South Carolina Beaufort (5-5, 2-3 TSC) Saturday afternoon at Bobcat Field.

Through 8 games, the Bobcats have now outscored their opponents 29-3 with five shutouts, a dominant start of the 2017 season..

Jannel Johnson continued her amazing season, netting two more goals to put her at 11 for the year.   Also leading the Bobcat offense was Amyah Banks, who scored two goals capitliazing on her only two shots of the match. Sarah Lyppert Thomsson and Alexa Rivera also added a goal each. 

The Bobcat offense netted three shots in each of the halves this afternoon, with goals coming from Sarah Lyppert Thomsson in the 14th minute, Alexa Rivera in the 17th, Jannel Johnson in the 36th and 66th, and Amyah Banks with goals in the 63rd and 71st. Kortney Hinden and Eva Castano Candela each recored assists to aid in the Bobcat scoring parade.

The STU defense stayed sharp as usual, holding the Sand Sharks to just five shots on the day.

Starting goalkeeper Cristina Garwacki recorded yet another shutout, providing two saves en route to her fifth shutout of the season

Up next for the Bobcats is a road conferecne match against the Gyrenes from Ave Maria on Wednesday, October 11 at 2 p.m.
