WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – St. Thomas won the third game of a Sun Conference series over host Keiser 9-6 in the second game of a Friday doubleheader.
Alliyah Sands with 4-for-5 with three RBI and
Melody Grafals went 2-2 with a home run to lead the Bobcats offensively.
Jennifer Acevedo pitched five innings, allowing just three earned runs for the victory.
Emily Santos closed out the game, pitching the final two innings.
Grafals got the Bobcats on the board early with a solo home run in the top of the first inning. It marked the second home run of the series for Grafals who also blasted a homer in game one on Thursday.
STU then opened up a 7-0 lead with a huge six-run fourth inning that featured RBI doubles by
Kaitlin O'Hara,
Jamie Gonzalez and Acevedo.
In the fifth inning, KU cut the Bobcat lead to three runs, until an insurance run came through on an RBI-single by Sands that scored GiGi
Santos.
The Bobcats were shut out 7-0 by the Seahawks in the first game of the doubleheader after losing game one of the three-game series in extra innings on Thursday.
