STU OFFENSE DOMINATES AGAINST THE WARRIORS

BABSON PARK, Fla. – The St. Thomas University Women's Soccer team (5-6-1, 2-5-1 TSC) wins in dominating fashion over Webber International University (4-9-1, 2-5-1 TSC) on the Saturday afternoon. A strong offensive presence led to a 7-3 victory on the road.

The offense for the Bobcats has been the story all year as they average about 19 shots per game. STU continued right where they left off last game attacking early. They were able to put one in the back of the net in the seventh minute when Maria Vega took a shot from a 30 yard free kick and recorded her second goal of the season.

Webber was able to quickly regain the goal when a ball was crossed into the box and put past the Bobcat keeper.

St. Thomas was able to take a two goal lead with the help of freshman Katharina Jüllich who scored off a long pass from the midfield into the box by Andrea Manzur; the second goal came from the foot of senior Kortney Hinden, she was assisted by Celine Pou.

The Bobcats were able to record 15 shots, seven of which were on goal, alone in the first half. While the defense was able to hold off the Warriors to just five shots in half and making it easy for keeper Veronica Gonzalez who recorded three saves.
