BLUFFTON, S.C. – St. Thomas University Women's Soccer Team (3-4-1, 0-3-1 TSC) drops road match up against University of South Carolina Beaufort (5-5-0, 2-3-0 TSC) in double-overtime 0-1 on Saturday afternoon.
The offense for STU started with Senior
Kylie Braeseke as she was able to put two shots on goal in back to back attempts under a minute apart. The offense continue to roll for the Bobcats as they took 12 shots in each of the first halves, with five being on goal.
The defense shined in this game as they only allowed USCB two shots in the first half only one of them being on goal. The Sand Sharks usually average 10.9 shots per game, and the Bobcats held them to just eight.
Even the tremendous efforts of the defense wasn't enough for this match after 102 minutes of play, USCB found the back of the net in double-overtime to secure the conference victory. Bobcats had seven shot attempts in the additional periods but were unable to capitalize.
STU will be back in action on Wednesday at home against Ave Maria University under the lights for the 7 p.m. game start time.
