MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The seventh ranked St. Thomas Bobcats (30-4, 11-1 TSC) earned their 30
th win of the season against the College of St. Joseph (7-18) on Tuesday night at Paul Demie Mainieri Field.
Rene Arauz (5-2) earned his fifth win of the season, pitching seven innings, racking up ten strikeouts while only allowing three runs. Arauz earned a quality start with the performance and also set a new career high with his ten strikeouts. Sawyer Losey came into relief in the eighth inning but would be replaced due to a hit-by-pitch and a walk, by
Tyler Morales. Morales promptly worked out of the jam with a double play ball and a groundout to first.
Erne Valdes pitched the ninth, earning his sixth save of the season.
The Bobcats offense totaled eight hits to score the six runs in the win, receiving RBI from Elih Marrero, Chris Garabedian,
Oscar Rodriguez,
Jose Brito and Erick Delgado. St. Thomas scored two runs in the second to take an early 2-0 lead, before falling behind 3-2 in the fourth. STU responded with single runs in the fourth through seventh innings to take a 6-3 lead to win the game.

th from Paul Demie Mainieri Field at 6 p.m. before a weekend series against Sun Conference neighbors Florida Memorial to resume conference play.
