FULLERTON, Calif. – St. Thomas (0-6) dropped a pair of games at Hope International (16-2) on Tuesday as the Bobcats Spring Break trip to California continued.  STU lost the first game 10-3, then fell in game two 8-0.
Highlights for the Bobcats came in game one as STU took an early lead in the first inning.Â
Melody Grafals opened the day with a double. With
Nanet Manieri also on the basepaths, Graflas then scored on an RBI sac bunt by
Alexa Spellman to give the Bobcats a 1-0 lead.
HIU tied the game up 1-1 before Grafals exploded with a home run to left field to lead off the third inning and give STU a 2-1 lead. Hope International would respond with a five-run inning to take a 7-2 lead into the sixth. That's when Alliya Sands led off with a home run to right-center field, marking the second home run of the game for the Bobcats.
Grafals ended the game with a 2-for-3 performance with a home run, a double, two runs scored and a walk.
Michelle Murch would also record a triple in the contest.
 STU had a tough time matching HIU's offense in game two as the Bobcats managed four hits as
GiGi Santos, Sands, Manieri and
McKenna Delaware each recorded singles.Â
The road trip continues with a doubleheader at San Diego Christian on Thursday in El Cajon, California. First pitch for game one of the doubleheader is set for 12 p.m. PT/3 p.m. ET.
