The Bobcats used a combination of solid starting pitching and opportunistic hitting to earn the two victories Saturday. Â
In game one, starting pitcher

Melody Grafals reached on an error, then advanced to second on a single by Gonzalez. Murch was up next and singled on a bunt to load the bases for
Alexis Castroman. With the bases juiced, Castroman delivered with an RBI single down the left field line to score Grafals and load the bases again this time for
McKenna Delaware. \With two outs and the bases loaded for the second time in the inning, Delaware also delivered with a single to score Gonzalez and give the Bobcats a 2-0 lead.
In the second inning, the Bobcats continued to set the early tone by capitalizing on another bases loaded situation.Â
Jamie Gonzalez got the job done this time around to score Santos who had reached base on an error.
WIU scored runs in the third and the fourth innings to make the score 3-2 heading in to the sixth. In that frame, Santos reached base on a single. Sands then came to the plate with two outs and doubled to left-center field to score Santos. The left fielder of the Warriors was then charged an error which resulted in Sands coming all the way around the bases to score. Â
The Warriors scored a run in the bottom of the sixth, but the Bobcats responded with an insurance run in the top of the seventh as an RBI-single by pinch hitter
Alexa Spellman scored Murch. Santos then shut down the Warriors with a strike out, fly out and ground out to finish off game one.
In game two, starting pitcher
Jennifer Acevedo (2-2) pitched a complete game allowing two runs on eight hits with no walks.  At the plate, Murch went 2-for-3 with an RBI in game two. Sands had a triple with two runs scored and two RBI, while
Alysha Coyle went 1-for-2 with a double, a run scored, an RBI, and a stolen base.
Down 1-0, STU's offense got started with an RBI single by Murch in the fourth inning that scored Grafals to tie the game 1-1. The fifth inning then provided an offensive explosion for the Bobcats as Coyle doubled to score
Dayma Pla followed by a 2-RBI triple by Sands that scored
Nanet Manieri and Coyle. The inning continued as Grafals hit an RBI single to score Sands, Murch then singled as Grafals came around to score on an error to complete the five-run frame.
Once again, the Bobcats added insurance runs late by scoring two runs off WIU errors in the top of the seventh. Acevedo then shut the door with a foul out, a pop up and a fly out to complete the doubleheader sweep.
