Box Score 2 MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. - St. Thomas dropped a pair of games to 20th ranked Warner in a doubleheader played Wednesday evening at Col. Jacquelin J. Kelly Field. Â The Bobcats fell to the visiting Royals 6-0 in game one, then lost 2-0 in the second game of the twin bill.
Warner jumped out to a 1-0 lead to open the doubleheader, then added three runs in the third to take a 4-0 advantage. Â Runs were then added in the fifth and seventh innings, despite some strong pitching at times by
Emily Santos, STU's game one starter. Â At one point, Santos retired six straight Royal hitters to try to keep her team in contention.
Santos finished her evening on the mound, allowing four earned runs on nine hits over a complete seven innings. Â She struck out four batters in the process.

McKenna Delaware each recorded hits for the Bobcats in game one.
The second game of the doubleheader was a low scoring contest as STU's
Jennifer Acevedo took the mound. Â Acevedo contained the Royals for most of the night, allowing just one earned run over her seven innings pitched. Â She registered three strikeouts, while allowing nine hits. Â In five of her seven innings pitched, Acevedo did not allow a run.
Warner scored its only two runs in the second game in the third and fourth inning, while riding a one-hit performance by their pitcher. Â Manieri provided the lone hit for the Bobcats with a single in the bottom of the first.
St. Thomas returns to action with another doubleheader when the Bobcats travel to Lakeland, Fla. to take on Southeastern on April 18.
