AVE MARIA, Fla. – St. Thomas University [2-4-1, 1-0-1 TSC] traveled to the West Coast of Florida to take on their first conference match of the year against Ave Maria University [4-5-1, 0-0-1 TSC].
 
This game was a rematch of the Bobcats opened the year, they jumped right on the board in the 3
rd minute of the match when 
Lasse Lahrtz scored his third goal of the year off a 
Romario Atkinson assist. Lahrtz has scored a goal in three of the last four matches and has tied 
Itay Forkosh for the team leader in goals.
 
The defense for the Bobcats led by 
Harry Molyneux, 
Frank Long, 
Romario Atkinson, and 
George Koutsopodiotis; shut down the Gyrenes' offense in the first half as they did not record a single shot. Making it an easy first half for goalkeeper 
Robert Barton.
 
The offense continued to strike but were unable to secure an insurance goal. The Gyrenes then later came and secured a goal via a penalty kick in the 76
th minute to tie the game. This eventually would be the goal game tying goal as the game ended in double-overtime, tied at 1.
 
The Bobcats will be back in action on Saturday in Lake Wales, Fla. as they look to pick up their first conference win against Warner University under the lights at 7 p.m.
