th, 2019) – Sixth-ranked St. Thomas University Bobcats (2-0) defeated crosstown rival, Florida Memorial University (0-1) on Tuesday night from Paul Demie Mainieri Field.

Game Notes
- Keanu Guzman got his second consecutive midweek start for St. Thomas University, lasting 2.1 innings, giving up three earned runs.
- STU started the offense early, scoring the first run of the game in the bottom of the first inning, as Jack Diaz singled in Erick Delgado.
- FMU responded quickly, tacking on three-runs in the top of the second inning, which included a two-run home run, to take a 3-1 lead over St. Thomas.
- The Bobcats cut the deficit in half in the bottom of the inning, as with two outs, Daniel Lowry doubled to left field and scored on a Delgado triple; which was nearly an inside-the-park home run, before Delgado was thrown out at the plate.
- St. Thomas reclaimed the lead in the bottom of the fourth inning, as Lowry brought in Alejandro Rivero and Joey Thompson on a two-run triple to centerfield to give STU a 4-3 lead.
- Delgado brought in Lowry for the second time in the game with a RBI-single to extend the Bobcat lead to 5-3.
- With the game hanging in the balance as FMU had runners on first and second with only one out, Jonathan Menendez was called into the game for the Bobcats. The lefty needed only one pitch to escape the jam, rolling a "pitcher's best friend" a 6-4-3 double play.
- In the bottom of the sixth, with Delgado on second base following a stolen base, Florida Memorial walked Jackie Urbaez for a lefty-lefty matchup with Chris Garabedian.
- Garabedian responded by slapping a single to left field to plate Delgado, as the Bobcats doubled-up the Lions at 6-3.
- Florida Memorial hit their second home run of the game in the top of the seventh inning to bring the St. Thomas lead to 6-4.
- The STU offense broke the contest open in the bottom of the seventh inning, adding two runs, as Alejandro Rivero clubbed his first home run of the season to put the Bobcats ahead, 8-4.
- St. Thomas tacked on two more insurance runs in the bottom of the eighth, as Sergio Lopez brought in Delgado on a sacrifice fly and Gus Guerra singled in Garabedian.

- The Bobcat bullpen has been a strength of the sixth-ranked club, through two games. Jason Graña made his second appearance, pitching 2.1 perfect innings to shut-down the Lion offense.
