MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (October 16, 2019) - St. Thomas University Volleyball (7-12, 4-6 TSC) got back into the win column, defeating crosstown rival, Florida Memorial University (12-8, 6-4 TSC) in four sets (25-21, 25-14, 17-25, 25-19) in round two of the "Battle of Miami Gardens" from the Fernandez Family Center on Wednesday evening.

Game Notes
- Chenault opened the match with her first kill, giving STU an early 1-0 lead.
- The first set saw the match tied fourteen times, as the two clubs battled back-and-forth.
- Bolinger gave STU the lead for good, following a service ace after a Lions timeout.
- St. Thomas closed the first set with seven-of-eight points, as Allende capped off the set with a kill.
- Florida Memorial recorded four consecutive points in the second set, building a 9-4 lead.
- STU got back into the set following four errors from the Lions, putting the score at 10-9.
- Lucia Alvarez tied the set at 11-11 with her first service ace of the contest.
- A four-point rally by the Bobcats forced the Lions to use a timeout with STU leading 13-11.
- Following the timeout, Batsel and Chenault went back-to-back kills, extending the lead to 15-11.
- STU continued to roll, as Alvarez recorded three aces in the rally giving STU a 19-11 lead.
- FMU halted the Bobcats momentum for one point, however, STU responded with five consecutive points, off of four Lion errors.
- Bolinger closed the set with a kill, pushing the Bobcats match lead to 2-0.
- STU did not lead for a play in the third set, dropping the set, 17-25.
- Chenault added another kill to give the Bobcats a 7-6 lead in the fourth set.
- Three consecutive errors by the Lions gave STU a 16-15 lead, before Chenault extended the lead to 17-15 with another kill, as FMU used a timeout.
- Allende pushed the Bobcats lead to 22-16 with a service ace.
- Chenault closed out the match with back-to-back kills as the Bobcats closed out the four-set victory, with a fourth set win at 25-19.
