BOBCATS LOSE TO WILDCATS IN TSC PLAY

MIAMI SHORES, Fla. (October 2, 2019) - St. Thomas University Women's Soccer (4-3, 2-1 TSC) lost 1-0 in a mid-afternoon match against crosstown opponent, Johnson & Wales University (7-1, 2-0 TSC) on Wednesday from the Miami Shores Recreational Field.

  • Within the first minute of action, the Bobcats recorded their first shot of the contest, as a Benito attempt was blocked by the JWU defense.
  • STU maintained an aggressive attack throughout the first half, out-shooting JWU 11-8. Six different Bobcats attempted a shot, with Benito leading the team with four.
  • Freshman, Kayla Jackson, subbed into the game following the halftime break and within two minutes attempted a shot-on-goal but the attempt was denied with a save.
  • JWU scored the only goal of the game in the 76th minute, taking a 1-0 lead as Savannah Jackson netted her 22nd goal of the season.
  • Manzur attempted a shot to tie the match, going wide and STU fell to JWU in Sun Conference action, 1-0.
