HAT TRICK FROM MOREIRA EASES #12 STU PAST FMU

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (October 19, 2019) – Twelfth ranked St. Thomas University's Men's Soccer team (10-2, 4-2 TSC) defeats Sun Conference rival, the Florida Memorial University Lions (2-11, 1-5 TSC) on Saturday evening at Bobcat Field with a final score of 6-0.

Game Notes:
  • Marx got his fifth start in the net, first since October 5th, improving his record to 5-0 on the year and picking up his third clean sheet on the year.
  • Pedro Moreira had a day; the Bobcat forward gave STU a 1-0 lead in the first half.
  • Molyneux sent the ball from about 70-yards out to FMU's 20-yard line, perfect enough for Moreira to chip it over the keeper from the corner of the 18-yard box.
  • Something sparked for the Bobcats after halftime as they went on two score five goals in the second half.
  • Kevin Stoffle had some fresh legs coming off the bench, getting his first goal on the year off a through ball from Domber.
  • Moreira went on to score back-to-back goals to put the Bobcats up 4-0.
  • Harry Taylor and Mads Rismoen made a huge impact off the bench.
  • Both Bobcats combined twice, to score two goals, in a two-minute span.
  • Marx played a phenomenal game recording four big saves to keep the Lions scoreless.
