STU SWEEPS JWU IN TSC PLAY

NORTH MIAMI, Fla. (October 26, 2019) - St. Thomas University Women's Volleyball (10-13, 6-7 TSC) swept Johnson & Wales (9-15, 2-10 TSC) defeating the Wildcats in straight sets (25-11, 25-13, 25-16) on Saturday afternoon.

Game Notes
  • STU began the first set with an 8-2 advantage, courtesy of a six-point run, as Schlegel - Ridgway recorded two kills.
  • The Bobcats also added a nine-point rally, extending the lead to 19-7. Chenault added three kills in the run and Allende tallied a service ace.
  • St. Thomas closed the first set with six-of-seven points in the set, as consecutive kills from Batsel, Allende and Chenault guided STU to a 25-11 set win.
  • JWU gave STU six straight points from errors, giving the Bobcats a 17-11 second set lead.
  • Dani Femat recorded a service ace, as STU took a 21-12 lead and forced the WIldcats to use a timeout.
  • McKenzie Miholer finished the set with a service ace of her own, as St. Thomas sealed a 25-13 set win.
  • St. Thomas opened the third set with a 7-0 run. Batsel began the set with back-to-back kills, Beecham added a service ace and Allende tallied a kill.
  • Manuela Martinez gave the Bobcats a 12-3 lead with a kill of her own.
  • Chenault closed the sweep with her eighth kill as the Bobcats took the season series over the Wildcats.
