MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (November 9, 2019) – No. 4 St. Thomas University Women's Soccer (10-5-1. 6-3-1 TSC) advanced to the semi-final round of the Sun Conference Championship tournament, beating No. 5 SCAD – Savannah (9-7-1) from Bobcat Field on Saturday afternoon.
Game Notes
- St. Thomas out-shot SCAD, 15-5, for the game; including 8-2 in the first half and 7-3 in the second.
- The match went into halftime, deadlocked at 0-0.
- Â Jüllich netted her sixth goal of the season in the 63rd minute, giving St. Thomas a 1-0 lead.
- SCAD took shots on goal in the 78th and 86th minutes, in an attempt to tie the game but Bobcat keeper, Lefebvre, turned both opportunities away.
- The Bobcats defense held strong, not allowing SCAD another chance to tie the game and preserved the Quarterfinal win.
A year after not advancing to the Sun Conference Quarterfinals, St. Thomas earned their first playoff win since 2017. The Bobcats advanced to the Sun Conference Semifinals, following a win over Thomas University.
