West Palm Beach, Fla. (December 21, 2019) - St. Thomas University (STU) Bobcats Women's Basketball team (6-7) was defeated 91-74 by (RV) Mount Vernon Nazarene University (12-3) in the finale of the West Palm Invitational on Saturday morning from the campus of Keiser University.

Game Notes

• MVNU opened the game on a 13-0 run, putting the Bobcats in a hole early in the first quarter.
• St. Thomas clawed back into the contest, with an 11-1 run of their own. Destiny Wilson and Dozier capped off the run with back-to-back three pointers. 
• Brooks ended the first quarter with a lay-up as STU wrapped up the quarter trailing 23-15. 
• Four quick points from Vogel and Samaria August, to open the second quarter, cut the deficit in half. 
• Consecutive three-pointers from Kayla Rodriguez and Dozier, brought the Bobcats to within six, 47-41 with a minute remaining in the first half. 
• Dozier and Brooks combined for seven consecutive points to open the second half, as STU got back within three points, 53-50. 
• With less than two minutes remaining in the third quarter, St. Thomas trailed the Cougars 67-59. 
• STU could not cut the deficit to less than 15 points in the fourth quarter, as the Bobcats lost their third consecutive game.
