AVE MARIA, Fla. (February 15
th, 2019) – The sixth-ranked St. Thomas University Bobcats Baseball team (6-3, 1-0 TSC) defeated the Ave Maria Gyrenes (5-8, 0-1 TSC) 12-0 in a run-rule on Friday afternoon from Bowie's Ballpark.

Game Notes
- Ian Exposito got the starting nod in the Sun Conference opener for the Bobcats. In his last outing against #17 Middle Georgia State, Exposito threw a complete game (7 innings) earning his second win of the season while striking out nine.
- STU gave Exposito all the runs the lefty needed in the third inning, as Erick Delgado just missed his first home run of the season, but brought in Joey Thompson on a sacrifice fly.
- In the top of the fourth inning, St. Thomas got on the board again, when Alejandro Rivero drove a line drive to center field and brought in Sergio Lopez on a sacrifice fly.
- Jackie Urbaez came to the plate with runners on second and third, hitting a single to right field to plate Daniel Lowry, making the score 3-0.
- Following Urbaez was Chris Garabedian, Garabedian reached on an error by the first baseman, allowing Thompson to score to extend the Bobcats lead to 4-0.
- STU broke the Sun Conference contest open in the bottom of the sixth inning, scoring four runs to open an 8-0 advantage.
- The highlight of the inning was a three-run home run by Urbaez, his first of the season, which gave the Bobcats a 7-0 lead.
- Garabedian came into score the fourth run of the inning on a Lopez RBI single to center.
- St. Thomas completed the run-rule in the seventh inning, adding another four runs to take a 12-0 lead.
- Alejandro Rivero scored on a RBI single by Thompson; Thompson later scored after Garabedian reached on an error by the second baseman for AMU.
- Brett Mantrana worked a walk, which plated Urbaez and Lopez recorded another sacrifice fly to bring in Garabedian.
- Exposito finished off his second consecutive complete game performance, striking out seven and earning his third win of the season in a shutout as STU opens Sun Conference play with a win.
