(RV) BOBCATS DROP ON SENIOR NIGHT

MIAMI GARDENS, FLA. (February 16, 2019) – The receiving votes St. Thomas University Women's Basketball team (21-8, 13-5 TSC) drop a tough one in the Fernandez Family Center on 'Senior Night' to the fourth ranked Fire of Southeastern University (25-2, 18-0 TSC) by a score of 49-78 to end regular season play.

Game Notes
  • Bobcats opened up the scoring when Anari Dozier hit a three-pointer to take the lead in the first.
  • STU had three players record a bucket from behind the arc (Dozier, Auguste, Brooks) to keep the game within single digits in the first quarter.
  • Auguste nailed a three-pointer in the first few seconds of the second quarter to cut the Fire lead to two.
  • Southeastern would take an 11-point lead into the half.
  • The Bobcats would go on a 7-2 run to come with seven as the offense shifted gear and earned their baskets in the paint.
  • The Fire would come back in the fourth and take control to close out the game.

Seniors Honored
 
The Bobcats will now begin play in The Sun Conference Tournament as the second seed overall. With the second seed they receive an automatic bye into the semi-finals. The final four will be hosted on the campus of Southeastern University as they clinched the number one seed. STU will play the winner of the #6 Keiser University and #3 College of Coastal Georgia match-up on Friday, February 22nd at a time that is yet to be determined.
