BOCA RATON, Fla. (February 8
th, 2019) – The St. Thomas University Bobcats Softball team (2-2) dropped a double-header to the Lynn University Fighting Knights (4-2) on Friday afternoon on the road.

Game One Notes
- Bobcats offense got started with a two-out single by Delaware in the top half of the first.
- Acevedo pitched out of a two-out jam in the bottom half of the first and left two runners stranded for the Fighting Knights.
- The top of the fourth got started with back-to-back singles from G. Santos and Castroman to get runners on first and second.
- Descheene was able to move them over with a sacrifice bunt, Colon came in to pinch hit and drew a walk to load them up.
- Lynn was able to escape the inning with a double play.
- The Bobcats were one out away from forcing extras when Wyatt triple to right field and brought in Veliz to end the game in the bottom half of the seventh.

Game Two Notes
- E. Santos came out firing as she sat the Fighting Knights down in order in the bottom half of the first, striking out one.
- The offense for STU started to get something brewing as Manieri got hit by a pitch and G. Santos got an infield single.
- Grafals laid down a sacrifice bunt to put the runners in scoring position with two-away.
- Ehrenthal then came up to bat and singled through the left side to draw in two as G. Santos scored while Ehrenthal drew a rundown at second base in the top half of the third.
- Lynn was able to scratch one in the bottom half of the third and fifth to tie the game at two.
- Spalding came into relief for the bottom of the sixth and was able to come up big with a strikeout, Sands followed with a diving play up the middle to preserve the game ultimately send it to extras.
- With the 'International Tie Breaker' in place Descheene started the top of the eighth on second base.
- G. Santos reached on with bunt single to the third baseman and moved over Descheene.
- Within the same play G. Santos drew a throw over to second base and was able to safely reach while Descheene was later thrown out at the plate. Confusion with the umpires and the Lynn defense led to Santos scoring and giving STU the momentum and the lead heading to the bottom of the eighth!
- Lynn was able to tie the game up and the Bobcats were again one out away form drawing an extra inning, but Lynn was able to capitalize on a deep fly ball to score and win the game in the bottom half of the eighth.
