MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (March 13
th, 2019) – Tenth-ranked St. Thomas University Baseball (22-7) continues to roll during "Spring Rake", as the Bobcats defeated the Southern Connecticut State College Owls (5-9) by a score of 8-1 on Wednesday night from Paul Demie Mainieri Field.

Game Notes
- Keanu Guzman (2-0) earned his second win of the season, pitching five innings, striking out three and allowing one earned run.
- STU wasted no time scoring and getting ahead, as the Bobcats opened the game with a run in the bottom of the first inning.
- A. Rivero brought in Delgado on a fielder's choice groundout to third base, as St. Thomas opened a 1-0 lead.
- Southern Connecticut State scored their lone run of the game in the top of third inning, tying the game at 1-1.
- St. Thomas took the lead for good in the bottom half of the inning on a Garabedian two-RBI single, plating Lopez and Delgado, as STU took a 3-1 lead.
- The Bobcats added a third run in the inning on a double by Lowry, bringing in Garabedian, extending the lead to 4-1.
- STU scored an insurance run in the bottom of the fourth inning, as Izquierdo scored on a RBI single from Delgado.
- STU turned to the bullpen in the top of the sixth inning, as Guzman was replaced with Joel Rivero. Rivero pitched an inning and struck out one.
- St. Thomas went back to the bullpen in the seventh and eighth, turning to Tyler Morales and Alex Sarmiento, respectively.
- In the bottom of the eighth inning, STU put up three more runs. Chris Allende scored on a wild pitch and Rivero brought in two runs on a single to right field, extending the lead to 8-1.
- Ernesto Pino recorded the final three outs, pitching the ninth inning.
