MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (April 10
th, 2019) – St. Thomas University Softball (21-13, 7-9 TSC) split a Sun Conference doubleheader with (RV) Webber International (21-13, 10-6 TSC), winning game one 4-3 and losing game two 5-4, on Wednesday, April 10
th from the "Colonel".

Game Notes
- St. Thomas University entered the Sun Conference match-up riding a five-game winning streak against Webber International, sweeping the previous two seasons series matchups.
- WIU took an early 1-0 advantage in the top of the first inning, on a RBI single.
- STU tied the game in the bottom half of the inning, as Jordan Kruempel singled to centerfield to bring in Santos.
- The Warriors reclaimed the lead in the top of third on a fielders' choice and added another run in the top of the fourth, making the score 3-1.
- The score held until the bottom of the sixth, when STU rallied for three runs to take their first lead of the Sun Conference game.
- Nanet Manieri led off the inning with a bunt single; Tyenna Colon followed with a single of her own and both advanced on a wild pitch while Rebeka Ehrenthal was batting. Ehrenthal bunted back to the mound and allowed both runner's score, tying the game at 3-3.
- Sarah Deschenne reached on an error, bringing in Ehrenthal, giving STU a 4-3 lead.
- Emily Santos finished the complete game; her second of the season, giving the Bobcats a Sun Conference win over the Warriors, 4-3.

- Kaitlin Spalding (7-7) made the start and her 20th appearance of the season, pitching 3.2 innings and striking out one while taking a loss.
- WIU took the lead in the top of the first inning on a RBI groundout, taking a 1-0 lead.
- Jennifer Acevedo came into pitch in the top of the third inning and recorded her 100th career St. Thomas strikeout in the top of the fifth inning.
- Webber added two runs in the fifth inning, on a two-run home run, taking a 3-0 lead.
- St. Thomas got on the board in the bottom of the fifth inning as aggressive base-running brought in Colon and Acevedo on a wild pitch, making the score 3-2.
- WIU added two runs in the top of the sixth inning, on a two-run double, extending the lead to 5-2.
- The Bobcats recorded their first hit of the contest in the bottom of the sixth inning, as Alexis Castroman led off with a single.
- Headed to the bottom of the seventh inning, STU trailed 5-4 and the "Comeback 'Cats" needed some additional, late inning magic.
- Bailey Williams led off the bottom of the seventh with a single to center; Sands followed with a bunt single of her own; a sacrifice bunt by Manieri put runners in scoring position for Grafals.
- Grafals doubled to left to bring in Sands and Williams, cutting the deficit to 5-4.
- The "Comeback 'Cats" effort fell short, leaving the tying run on second base and falling to the Warriors for the first time in three seasons, 5-4.
