MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (April 13
th, 2019) – The tenth-ranked St. Thomas University Bobcats Baseball team (34-11, 16-5 TSC) completed the Sun Conference series sweep over No. 1 Southeastern University (39-7, 15-3 TSC) in the NAIA Ball "Series of the Week" on Saturday afternoon from Paul Demie Mainieri Field.
Notable facts
- Head Coach, Jorge Perez, became the second St. Thomas University Baseball Coach to reach 400 wins. Perez achieved the milestone following a 14-2 run-rule victory in game one of the doubleheader.
- St. Thomas University swept Southeastern University for the first time since 2012
- STU has now won five consecutive season series over SEU, dating back to 2015. In that span, the Bobcats are 11-4 against the Fire and outscoring the rivals, 116-81.

- Ian Exposito (8-2) earned his team leading eighth win of the season, pitching seven innings, recording six strikeouts and allowing two earned runs.
- St. Thomas jumped out to an early 5-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning, scoring four runs with two outs.
- Jackie Urbaez led-off the inning with a double and scored on a RBI single by Jack Diaz; STU added two runs on a Fire error; Thompson brought in Rivero on a RBI single and the inning was capped off by a RBI double by Daniel Mondejar.
- SEU scored their only two runs of the contest with a two-run home run in the top of the second inning, making the score 5-2.
- Delgado got STU those two runs back, with a two-run home run of his own, to left field. The home run, marked Delgado's second of the season and gave St. Thomas a 7-2 lead.
- Rivero added a two-run blast of his own, his seventh of the season, to cap-off a four-run bottom of the second inning to extend the Bobcats lead to 9-2.
- Daniel Lowry led-off the bottom of the third inning with a solo home run, his second of the season, opening up a 10-2 advantage.
- St. Thomas added two more runs, capitalizing on an error and a RBI groundout.
- A bases loaded walk and a RBI single in the bottom of the fourth, extended the STU lead to 14-2.
- Exposito finished the game, as the Bobcats won the series in run-rule fashion, taking game two 14-2.

- Exposito pitched at least seven innings for the fourth time in his last five starts, going 4-1 in that span. On the season, STU has outscored opponents 86-39 in starts by Exposito.

- Southeastern opened the series finale with a 1-0 lead in the first inning, scoring on a sacrifice fly.
- STU responded with a two-run bottom of the first inning, as Urbaez led-off with a double and scored on a throwing error by the catcher. Delgado scored the go-ahead run on a sacrifice fly by Diaz.
- Diaz singled to shortstop and brought in Lopez for his second RBI of the game, in the bottom of the third inning.
- Rivero homered for the second time on the afternoon, for his eighth home run of the season, leading off the bottom of the fourth inning.
- A RBI single by Delgado, brought in Allende and a bases loaded walk by Diaz brought in Urbaez, extending the Bobcat lead to 6-1 in the fourth inning.
- Lowry doubled to left-center filed to bring Allende in from first base to give STU a 7-1 advantage in the bottom of the fifth inning.

- Southeastern added a run and loaded the bases in the top of the eighth inning, as the Bobcats went into the bullpen for the first time, turning to Jason Graña to escape the jam.
- Graña struck out the first batter he faced and recorded a ground out, leaving the bases loaded to preserve a 7-3 advantage.
- Graña set the Fire down 1-2-3 in the top of the ninth, earning his second save of the weekend and fifth of the season, as St. Thomas completed the top-10 Sun Conference match-up sweep.
