LAKELAND, Fla. (September 28, 2019) - The No. 13 St. Thomas University Men's Soccer team (6-1, 0-1 TSC) lost their first game of the season (2-0) to No.16 Southeastern University (7-0-1. 2-0 TSC) in Sun Conference action from the SEU Soccer Complex on Saturday afternoon.

- No. 16 Southeastern took the lead, scoring on a penalty kick, following a Bobcats foul inside the box.
- SEU added a goal in the 23rd minute, as Sun Conference goal-leader, Jake Van Der Luit scored his 11th of the season.
- The Bobcats were out-shot in the first half by the Fire, 5-8.
- No. 13 STU came out of the halftime break more agressive, taking nine shots but the SEU keeper turned away five for saves.
- In a final push for offense, Max Franke lined up a free kick, SEU's keeper turned it away for a corner kick from Luis Stalin Munox.
- The Fire defense, which overwhelmed the Bobcat offense the entire game, kept STU from gaining any momentum. The Bobcats lost their first game of the season, 2-0.
