FT. LAUDERDALE, Fla. (September 5, 2019) – St. Thomas University Men's Soccer (2-0) defeated NCAA DII opponent, Nova Southeastern University (0-1) 2-1 on Thursday evening from the NSU Soccer Complex.

- The Sharks opened the match aggressive, recoding three shots in the opening five minutes, including the opening goal in the sixth minute to take a 1-0 lead over St. Thomas.
- STU took advantage of a NSU yellow card, netting the equalizer moments later, as Mads Rismoen scored his second goal of the season beating the keeper with a chip-shot.
- With ten minutes remaining in the first half, Oliver Noevik recorded his first goal as a Bobcatm as Santiago Gil and Tomas Greco added assists to give STU the lead at 2-1.
- The clubs went into the halftime with the Bobcats leading their DII counterparts, 2-1.
- STU's defense held strong in the second half, turning away 12 shots, as keeper, Mike Marx finished the match with four saves.
- The defensive trio of Harry Molyneux, Frank Long and George Koutsopodiotis kept the box clean, blocking shots to solidify the Bobcat defense.
- St. Thomas finished out the victory 2-1 to open the season with back-to-back wins.
