WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (January 21, 2020) - St. Thomas University (STU) Men's Tennis (0-1, 0-1 TSC) began the 2020 season with a straight match loss to No. 7 Keiser University (1-0, 1-0 TSC) on Wednesday afternoon.
Doubles
In the first match of the afternoon,
Nicolas Lerdo and Miguel Torremgra teamed up and lost 6-1.
The duo of Julian Patino and
Sebastian Mezo fell 6-1 on court two.
Adriel Azucey and
Sebastian Bunster also were defeated in their doubles match. The partners dropped the game, 6-3.
Singles
Azucey, the Bobcats number one, lost (6-1,6-0).
Patino fell in three sets on court two, winning one-of-three games for STU on the afternoon (7-5, 3-6, 0-1).
Mezo was the second St. Thomas player to earn his first set win of the season but dropped the match (1-6. 6-4, 4-6).
Torremegra lost his match in straight sets (5-7, 1-6).
Bunster also dropped his match-up in two sets, losing (1-6, 3-6).
Lerdo was the third Bobcat to claim a set victory, however, lost in three sets (1-6, 6-3, 0-1).

St. Thomas travels to Lakeland, Fla. to take on the Fire of Southeastern University on Saturday, January 25.
