Miami Gardens, Fla. (January 25, 2020) - St. Thomas University Women's Tennis (0-2, 0-2 TSC) dropped their second Sun Conference match of the season on Saturday, losing to Southeastern University (3-0, 2-0 TSC) by a match score of 8-1. 

Doubles

Annie Carrera and Lia Pena earned the first Bobcat win of the season, winning their match (7-6, 8-6). 

Manami Maehama and Thalia Skeene teamed up but were defeated, (1-6)

Mariah Bastos and Giovanna Paschoalin fell (2-6). 

Singles

Carrera lost her singles match, dropping the contest (3-6, 4-6)

Pena was defeated (3-6, 7-6, 10-5)

Skeene fell in both sets (1-6, 0-6)

Maehama lost (0-6, 1-6)

Paschoalin also fell in both sets, dropping the match (3-6, 2-6)

Shibata won the lone singles match for STU, (6-3, 6-3)

Upcoming

St. Thomas travels to Boca Raton to take on the Lynn University Fighting Knights on Tuesday, February 4. 

The St. Thomas Men's tennis team (0-2, 0-2 TSC) was also burnt by the Fire of Southeastern University (2-1, 2-0 TSC) losing 8-1. 

Doubles

Adriel Azucey and Sebastian Bunster lost their match, falling to 0-2 on the season, (1-6)

Juan Patino and Sebastian Mezo earned their first win, winning the match (6-0)

Miguel Torrenegra and Eduardo Meyna were defeated (2-6)

Singles

Azucey lost his match, falling (4-6, 6-7, 4-7)

Patino was defeated (1-6, 2-6)

Mezo dropped his singles competition (2-6, 6-7, 3-7)

Torrenegra was also swept, losing (1-6, 6-7, 2-7)

Reyna lost (3-6, 1-6)

Nicolas Lerdo picked up a set win, but dropped his match (6-2, 1-6, 4-6)

Upcoming 

St. Thomas has their 2020 home opener against Flagler College on Saturday, February 1.
