MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (October 24, 2020) – St. Thomas University (STU) Cross Country raced in the STU Bobcat Invitational against Florida National University on Saturday morning. The Bobcats won both the Men's and Women's races, which were five-kilometers.
Jonathan Memnon paced the men's team, winning the event with an average mile time of 5:34 and finishing in 17:17. Joseph Montes (2nd/17:41), Adam Kamel (3rd/18:22) and Peterley Louis (4th/18:32) all placed within the top-five for STU, as the Bobcats dominated the event. Andrew Pardo rounded out the top-five finishers for St. Thomas, completing the race in 22:30.
Lesly Marcin won the dual on the women's side, completing the race in 22:19. Escarleth Membrano finished in third place, with a time of 23:10. Emily Holzer (5th/23:48), Gabriela Gutierrez (6th/24:38), Calyope Ortega (7th/24:42) and Naomi Marcin (8th/24:51) were the remaining top-10 placers for the Bobcats. Alessandra Barquin ended the race in 11th place, completing the track in 28:14.
