Miami Gardens, Fla. – After leading their teams during their respective season openers this past weekend, the Sun Conference announced
Parker Doll as the Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week while
Keely Watson and
Jaelyn Thomas earned the league's Football Offensive and Special Team Players of the Week.
Opening their season at the Keiser University Flagship Cross Country Invitational, Doll finished fifth with a 5K time of 15:58.9. He was the first National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) runner to cross the finish line while leading the Bobcats to a second-place finish in a field that featured National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I and II programs.
Welcoming the University of Fort Lauderdale to kick off the 2025 campaign this past Saturday, Watson went 12-20 from the field in the 55-7 victory with three touchdowns and no interceptions. He passed the ball to nine different Bobcats in win, highlighted by a 38-yard TD to
Jaden Fox-Harrington.
Thomas returned two punts against UFTL, taking one 66 yards for a touchdown. He added a 51-yard kickoff return on the special teams side while adding two catches for 25 yards.
The Cross Country team hosts the STU Bobcat Invitational on Friday, Sept. 12 while the Football Team treks to Lindsey Wilson on Saturday, Sept. 13 for a 4 p.m. matchup.
