DOZIER'S CAREER-HIGH LEADS BOBCATS PAST SEAHAWKS IN TSC GAME OF THE WEEK

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (December 12, 2020) - St. Thomas University (STU) Women's Basketball (6-1, 4-1 TSC) defeated Keiser University (4-5, 2-3 TSC) 69-57 in the Sun Conference Game of the Week on Saturday afternoon from the Fernandez Family Center.

  • Martinez-Sanz got the Bobcats on the board first, knocking down a lay-up.
  • August started a Bobcat fastbreak opportunity, recording a steal, and Domond finished the possession with her first points of the game. 
  • STU fell behind briefly, 5-4, following a KU three-pointer. Domond reclaimed the lead for the Bobcats with a three-pointer bucket of her own.
  • Pressley finished a scoring chance with 3:56 left in the first quarter, extending the St. Thomas lead to 11-6.
  •  Anari Dozier scored five consecutive points in the last minute of the first quarter, sending the Bobcats to the break leading 16-10.
  • Keiser started the second quarter on a 9-3 run, tying the game at 19-19.
  • Dozier knocked down a three-pointer to give STU back the lead, 22-19.
  • Dozier's three-pointer started a 9-0 run for the Bobcats, in which the junior scored seven points, as St. Thomas took a 28-19 advantage.
  • Dozier converted another three-pointer and made three straight free-throws, giving STU a 36-23 lead with less than two minutes remaining in the first half.
  • Midway through the third quarter, August and Bogatz added back-to-back three-pointers to pad the Bobcat advantage, 45-33.
  • Domond gave St. Thomas its largest lead of the game, 49-33, making a lay-up with 3:37 left in the third quarter.
  • KU cut the Bobcat lead to 50-42 as the teams went into the final quarter in the Sun Conference Game of the Week.
  • Keiser scored a three-pointer to bring the game within five-points, 52-47.
  • Dozier scored ten consecutive points for St. Thomas, taking a 60-49 lead at the halfway point of the fourth quarter. 
  • Dozier surpassed her career-high for points (34) with a jump-shot in the final minute; leading STU to a 69-57 win in the Sun Conference Game of the Week.
