WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (December 19, 2020) - St. Thomas University (STU) Women's Basketball (7-1) earned a win over Florida National University (1-4) 71-49 on Saturday afternoon in the West Palm Invitational on the campus of Keiser University.

- Following an opening basket from FNU, the Bobcats scored six straight points to take a 6-2 lead in the contest's early minutes.Â
- Kayla Rodriguez recorded four consecutive points for STU, including an and-one, as the St. Thomas lead moved to 12-8.
- Renice Dacres was able to net her first points of the game in the last minute of the first quarter, putting STU in front 16-11.
- Anari Dozier ended the opening quarter with a lay-up to send STU into the second quarter with an 18-12 advantage.
- Florida National quickly tied the game in the second quarter, 19-19.
- Domond put STU back in front with a lay-up, 21-19, with 6:28 left in the first half.
- FNU responded with a three-pointer, reclaiming the lead, 22-21.
- Martinez-Sanz was able to score from inside-the-paint and once again, STU was in front, 23-22.
- Dozier added five straight points for the Bobcats, padding the lead to 28-25.
- August sent the teams into halftime with a lay-up in the final minute of the first half with STU ahead 31-26.
- St. Thomas began the second half with back-to-back buckets from Martinez-Sanz and Domond to take a 35-26 lead.
- Domond converted consecutive free throw attempts to push the lead to double-digits, 39-28.
- In the last two minutes of the third quarter, FNU nearly cut the deficit to single-digits; however, Keaubree Edwards ended the run with free throws and put the score at 45-32.
- Rodriguez added another three-points to her total with a three-pointer in the final minute, sending the game into the fourth quarter with STU in front, 52-32.
- Connieya Bradford was able to get on the scoreboard for STU in the fourth quarter, recording all five of her points.Â
- At the midway point of the fourth quarter, Rodriguez recorded a lay-up to extend the lead to 64-42.
- STU cruised to its seventh win of the season, sealing the 71-40 victory over Florida National.
