MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (February 13, 2020) - St. Thomas University (STU) Women's Basketball (10-15, 7-8 TSC) defeated Thomas University (3-14, 1-12 TSC) 70-63 in Sun Conference action on Thursday evening from the Fernandez Family Center.<br /> <br /> Bobcat Starters<br /> Anari Dozier (Guard)<br /> Destiny Wilson (Guard)<br /> Keiana Brooks (Guard)<br /> Samaria August (Guard)<br /> Kylie Vogel (Forward)<br /> <br /> Game Notes <ul> <li>STU opened the game on a 5-0 run, with Wilson and Brooks making baskets.</li> <li>Thomas rallied for a 13-6 run over six minutes of game action, closing the quarter with a 16-12 lead.</li> <li>TU extended its advantage to 21-14 in the opening minutes of the second quarter.</li> <li>Vogel cut the Bobcats deficit (21-18) to three by converting a lay-up.</li> <li>Patricia Martinez-Sanz brought St. Thomas to within one point, 24-23,m by sinking consecutive free throw attempts.</li> <li>STU briefly reclaimed the lead following an August three-pointer, 26-24, with 2:56 remaining in the first half.</li> <li>The pivotal Sun Conference match-up went into the halftime break with the Bobcats leading 32-31.</li> <li>Following a 5-0 run to open the third quarter for St. Thomas, Thomas took the lead with a 42-37 lead.</li> <li>Dozier ended the run by sinking a three-pointer and brining the Bobcats back within two.</li> <li>August and Dozier hit consecutive three-pointers, extending the STU lead to 48-42. </li> <li>Midway through the fourth quarter, Thomas took a 57-56 lead by making a three-pointer.</li> <li>August gave the Bobcats a lead for good in the fourth quarter, sinking a jumper.</li> <li>Dozier iced the game from beyond the arc, clinching the Bobcats win and keeping STU in the Sun Conference Playoff picture.</li> </ul> Sun Conference Playoffs Race<br /> 1.
