MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (February 28, 2020) - No. 2 St. Thomas University (STU) Bobcats Baseball (11-3, 3-0 TSC) picked up their third consecutive Sun Conference victory to open the season by defeating Warner University (6-14, 0-4 TSC). The Bobcats defeated the Royals, 10-0 in game one of the series from Paul Demie Mainieri Field.<br />

<li>Pino continues to be one of the most dominant arms in the NAIA, lowering his ERA to 0.38 and throwing seven shutout innings with ten strikeouts.</li>
<li>The senior opened the game with three consecutive strikeouts against Warner.</li>
<li>STU's offense came out swinging, recording three consecutive hits, including a two-run home run by Khawly, his third of the season, putting the Bobcats on the board, 2-0.</li>
<li>Thompson added an RBI double, driving in Rivero and extending the lead to 3-0.</li>
<li>Pino sent the Royals down in order in the second inning, maintaining the STU momentum.</li>
<li>Pino notched two more strikeouts in the third inning, working around his first two allowed base-runners.</li>
<li>The score remained 3-0 until the bottom of the fifth inning when Fernandez lined a single to center-field and brought in Rivero.</li>
<li>Pino struck out two more Royals in the top of the sixth inning, adding to his game total.</li>
<li>Martinez led off the top of the sixth inning with a single and stole second base; the right fielder came into score on a sacrifice fly from Lopez.</li>

Joel Rivero entered the game in the top of the eighth inning, allowing two base-runners but not allowing a run.</li>
<li>STU scored five runs in the bottom of the eighth inning, recording two hits, and sealed a 10-0 run-rule victory in game one of the Sun Conference series.</li>
