MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (March 10, 2020) - No. 2 St. Thomas University (STU) Bobcats Baseball (17-5) completed a thrilling, walk-off comeback win over Montreat College (N.C.) (12-12), winning 4-3 on Tuesday evening from Paul Demie Mainieri Field.
Former St. Thomas Bobcats outfielder,
Chris Allende, made his return to South Florida and the confines of Paul Demie Mainieri Field. Allende received his 2019 NAIA World Series ring in a pre-game ceremony, alongside Head Coach
Jorge Perez and the remaining members of the 2019 team.

- J. Rivero started the game for the Bobcats, laboring through a tough first inning. Rivero allowed three hits and three runs as STU trailed early, 3-0.
- Thompson led off the bottom of the first inning with a single to left-field, as the Bobcats looked to get back into the game.
- Daniel Bonsanti entered the game in relief for St. Thomas in the top of the second inning, retiring the Cavaliers in order in his first inning of work.
- In his second and third innings of work, Bonsanti notched consecutive double plays, keeping St. Thomas in the game.
- Lopez led off the bottom of the fourth inning with a walk and later, came into score on an RBI double from A. Rivero, getting the Bobcats in the game as they trailed, 3-1.
- Luis Gonzalez relieved Bonsanti for STU in the top of the seventh, recording three strikeouts in his first inning.
- Gonzalez added two more strikeouts to his ledger in the eighth inning, recording his first five outs via strikeout.
- In the bottom of the ninth, STU was down to their final three outs and needed three runs to get into the win column.
- Vazquez led off with a walk; while Guerra and Thompson recorded back-to-back singles to load the bases for the top of the line-up.
- Lopez and Khawly drew consecutive walks, bringing in the tying run, while keeping the bases loaded.
- Rivero once again came up clutch for STU, driving a ball down the right-field line and bringing in the game-winning run as St. Thomas emerged victorious with a walk-off victory, 4-3.
