LAKELAND, Fla. (September 12, 2020) - St. Thomas University (STU) Bobcats Volleyball (1-2) picked up the first win of their season and the first win of the Battoe-era in four-sets (25-23, 25-20, 15-25, 25-21) against Southeastern University (1-2) on Saturday afternoon.

- Southeastern began the first set with tremendous momentum, taking an 11-1 lead before Brock and Chenault's back-to-back kills stopped the rally, putting the score at 11-3.
- Trailing 21-9, St. Thomas rallied for nine consecutive points and cutting the deficit to 21-18.Â
- The Bobcats tied the set following a Fire error, 23-23, and took the first lead of the set after a Chenault kill.
- STU won the opening set. 25-23, capitalizing on six SEU errors.
- In the early stages of the second set, Allende recorded three straight points, as STU took a 7-4 lead.
- St. Thomas rallied for five consecutive points, taking a 16-9 advantage, as Bolinger, Â Nunez - Casal, Brock, and Allende all added kills.Â
- Southeastern cut the Bobcat lead to 18-17 before consecutive Fire errors led to STU taking a 20-17 lead.
- As St. Thomas led 23-19, SEU called their final timeout of the second set, but the Bobcats closed the second set and won, 25-20.
- Southeastern led the entire third set, winning their only set of the match, 25-15.Â
- Allende recorded a team-high four kills in the dropped third set.
- The Bobcats began the fourth set with three consecutive points, as a Nunez-Casal kill was accompanied by two Fire errors, giving STU a 3-0 lead.Â
- Midway through the final set, STU took a 17-15 lead after Nunez-Casal added a kill.
- With the set tied 21-21, the Bobcats recorded the final four points, capped off by a Dominguez service ace to clinch the first win of the season and Battoe-era, 25-21.
