MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (September 22, 2020) - St. Thomas University (STU) Volleyball (2-3) earned the first home win of the season, defeating Florida National University (1-1) in four-sets (25-19, 25-12, 21-25, 31-29) on Tuesday evening from the Fernandez Family Center.

- Bolinger began the game on fire for STU, recording four-kills in a 5-0 run for the Bobcats, extending the St. Thomas lead to 10-4 in the opening set, which forced FNU to call a timeout.Â
- Following the break, Florida National rallied for four consecutive points, trimming the STU lead to 12-9.
- Schlegel-Ridgway halted the rally, albeit momentarily, with a kill; however, the Conquistadors added another 4-0 run and tied the opening set, 13-13.
- Back-to-back kills from Chenault and Allende put the Bobcats ahead 17-14.Â
- St. Thomas closed the first set with the final four points, which featured two Bolinger service aces and a Schlegel-Ridgway kill, and won 25-19.
- The Bobcat momentum continued in the second set's beginning points, as STU took a 4-1 lead.
- In total, six straight points in the set were made on errors, putting the score at 6-4 in favor of St. Thomas.
- STU rallied for six consecutive points, extending the advantage to 18-7. Beecham led the run, tallying three service aces.
- Karla Delgado, Chenault, and Beecham notched the final four-points, with STU taking a 2-0 set advantage.
- Florida National scored 7-of-8 points in the opening of the third set, leading the Bobcats 12-8.
- St.Thomas was unable to bring the third set to within four-points, dropping the set, 21-25.
- The Bobcats began the fourth set with a 5-1 lead. Allende, Symonds, and Chenault all recorded kills and Stephanie Gomez.
- Fernandez tallied back-to-back service aces, which extended the Bobcat lead to 12-7.
- The Conquistadors scored 8-of-9 points, taking a 16-14 lead over STU and forcing a St. Thomas timeout.
- Allende added a service ace of her own, capping a 3-0 run for St. Thomas, and tying the fourth set, 19-19.
- Chenault, Beecham, Bolinger notched kills and Fernandez tallied a service ace, giving Bobcats a 23-22 lead.
- Bolinger once again took over for STU, converting three straight chances and forcing a tie and extra points in the force set.
- With the score at 30-29, in favor of St. Thomas, Bolinger scored her 18th and final kill, giving the Bobcats their first home win of the Battoe-era.
