STU AQUATICS SET TO HOST THEIR INAUGURAL HOME MEET

10/8/2021 2:51:00 PM

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (October 8, 2021) St. Thomas University (STU) Swimming is set to open their season this Saturday October 9 against Ave Maria University in a home meet held at Miami-Dade North Aquatics Center. This will be a groundbreaking moment for Florida NAIA swimming, as this will be both program's first swim meet in history. With over 15,000 high school swimmers in the State of Florida, St. Thomas saw great success with building their program for Year 1 under Head Coach, Caesar Asadi, who brought in 23 men and 16 women for the Fall 2021 recruiting class after taking over the program in January 2021.

"I am excited and grateful for the opportunity to have our program represent St. Thomas University in NAIA swimming. Our Bobcats have worked hard all throughout pre-season preparing for this moment. Even for our returners, this will be their first real experience to represent themselves and STU. Their dedication, resilience and commitment to this program has inspired me as both their coach and young man. I know they are ready for this historic moment," said Coach Asadi

The dual swim meet line-up will include the 200-yard Medley and Freestyle relays, the 50-yard, 100-yard, 200-yard, 500-yard, and 1000-yard Freestyle, the 100-yard and 200-yard Backstroke, Breastroke and Butterfly and closing it out with the 200-yard Medley.
