BOBCATS FALL LATE TO SEAHAWKS IN SUN ACTION

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (November 19, 2021) – The St. Thomas University Women's Basketball team (2-2, 0-2 SUN) fell late to Keiser University (6-1, 2-1 SUN) on Thursday evening from the Student Life Center.

Game Notes
  • The Bobcats started off hot with a 19-9 first quarter run.
  • Brooke Bogatz led the way off the bench with six-points, all coming from behind the arc.
  • St. Thomas held Keiser to shooting 21.4% from the field.
  • Five different Bobcats scored to take the 10-point lead.
  • St. Thomas also out-rebounded Keiser 13-7 in the first quarter.
  • Keiser made a run in the second quarter scoring 19 to cut the deficit to six heading into the half.
  • Kayla Rodriguez found a grove in the second quarter scoring seven of the Bobcat 15 points.
  • Bogatz added four more points, bringing her total to 10 in the first half.
  • The second half flipped a switch for Keiser as the Seahawks score 20+ points in the last two quarters.
  • St. Thomas was holidng off the Seahawks in the early minutes of the third to keep the lead hitting timely free-throws.
  • After being even at 45 all with 2:45 left in the third, Keiser would go on a 7-2 run to close out the quarter with a five-point lead.
  • The fourth quarter proved to be the difference maker as KU went on a run that the Bobcats could not recover from.

  • St. Thomas had more points I the paint 28-24.
  • Bogatz had 16 of the 20 STU bench points while leading the team overall.
  • Kasey Gagan was the second leading scorer with 13-points.
  • Gagan added three-rebounds, three-assists, and three-steals.
    St. Thomas went perfect at the charity stripe going 9-for-9.
  • Kylie Vogel, Patricia Martinez-Sanz, and Samria August led the way on the glass with eight rebounds each.
  • Chrystal Pressley was a three-rebounds shy of a double-double scoring 10-points and recording seven-rebounds.

St. Thomas will be back home tomorrow, Saturday, November 20 to continue conference play against Warner University. Tip-off is scheduled for 2 p.m. from the Fernandez Family Center Gym.
