MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (December 13, 2021) – The St. Thomas University (STU) Women's Basketball (7-5, 3-2 SUN) falls late to sixth ranked Wayland Baptist University (12-1) from the Fernandez Family Center on Monday evening. The Bobcats led the whole game but fell in the final minute 73-69 to the Flying Queens.

• St. Thomas already upset a Top-25 team heading into the game (#14 Lindsey Wilson).
• Wayland Baptist comes in ranked sixth in the recent NAIA Coaches' Poll.
• The Bobcats trailed 3-0 to open the game, but it quickly turned around to a 5-3 lead after a jumper from Bogatz and three-pointer from August.
• The first quarter ended in favor of St. Thomas as they took a 19-18 lead.
• Kylie Vogel would come off the bench at the beginning of the second quarter and score the first basket to extend the Bobcat lead to three.

• As the game would work its way to the wire, Kayla Rodriguez tilted the game in the Bobcats favor hitting two free-throws to start the fourth quarter.
• St. Thomas held a one possession lead for most of the quarter as the clock winded down.
• Martinez-Sanz hit the final bucket for the Bobcats that sought out to be the game winner.
• The Flying Queens would end the game on a 7-0 run and take advantage of two costly Bobcat turnovers in the final minute of the game.
