WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (December 18, 2021) – The St. Thomas University Women's Basketball team (7-8, 3-2 SUN) drop a pair of contests against Indiana schools at the West Palm Beach Invitational hosted by Keiser University. Day one the Bobcats fell to Indiana University East 81-78. Day two went in favor of the 12
th ranked Indiana Tech University Warriors 78-62.

St. Thomas had a strong outing in game one against the Red Wolves working a four-point deficit in the first quarter to flipping the scoreboard and taking a seven-point lead into the half.

The third quarter would be the difference maker in the game as St. Thomas was outscored 23-13. A strong fourth quarter pushed the limit but came up just short as STU feel 81-78.

Brooke Bogatz and
Kayla Rodriguez would lead the way with 14-points each.
Chrystal Pressley led the way on the boards with a team-high of nine. St. Thomas outscored Indiana-East on points off turnovers (18-11), bench points (34-26), points in the paint (42-36), and fast break points (12-5).

Game two was another tough battle and it marked the third ranked team the Bobcats have played this year and second this week.

Indiana Tech came in ranked 12
th in the NAIA and with a 14-1 record. A huge first quarter for the Warriors set the tone early taking a 14-point lead after 10-minutes of play.

The Bobcats bounced back in the second quarter and cut the deficit to six. Both teams came out shooting in the third, combining for the most points in the quarter in the game with 46.

Indiana Tech edged out St. Thomas in the fourth quarter maintaining a double-digit lead all the way through. Bogatz continued to be a star performer scoring 25-points for a season-high and her fourth straight game scoring 14+. This also marked the 10
th time this season for the sophomore to score in double-digits.
Chrystal Pressley was a rebound short of a double-double with 10-points and nine-boards. Kasey Gagen also scored her 10
th double-figure game of the season with 10-points and two-rebounds.

The Bobcats will take a short pause in play and look to return to the Fernandez Family Center on Thursday, December 30 to take on the Conquistadors of Florida National. The team will then return to Sun Conference play in game one of the new year against Ave Maria on January 6.
