LAKELAND, Fla. (January 8, 2022) – The St. Thomas University (STU) Women's Basketball team (7-9, 3-3 SUN) hit the road to take on no. 4 Southeastern University 916-1, 6-0 SUN) in The Furnace on Saturday evening to resume Sun Conference action and play their first contest of 2022. The Bobcats fell 74-55 in league play.

After taking a 5-0 deficit, the Bobcats worked their way back into it as
Renice Dacres tied it up with a jumper sending it to the media timeout tied at 12. The first quarter ended with sEU in the lead 22-16.

The Fire began to pull away and take a double-digit lead that they were able to maintain throughout the rest of the game.
Kasey Gagan led all scoring for the Bobcats with 15-points.
Kylie Vogel was a boost off the bench scoring 10-points, a season-high.
